Why the credit is here and not under each photograph
Every licence above is satisfied by attribution a reader can reasonably find, and a credits page linked from the footer of every page is the ordinary way to provide it. It also keeps a caption from competing with the sentence beside it, which matters on pages where the text is doing arithmetic.
If you took one of these and would rather the credit sat beneath the image, or would rather it were not used at all, say so and it will change the same day.
What these pictures are not
They are illustration. That is worth saying plainly, because this site spends most of its time arguing that a picture of a thing is not a measurement of it.
Nothing above shows a house, a bill, a meter reading or a machine that this site has tested, and no photograph here is offered in support of any figure. Where a page rests on first-hand material it is three contractor interviews and a commissioned load calculation, and that page says exactly what was gathered and how. Where it rests on other people's reported numbers, the household dataset names the source of every row and the tier of evidence it carries.
Two sets of photographs are deliberately absent. Utility bills sent in by readers are not published, because the ones supplied so far carry meter numbers and service reference numbers. Screenshots posted publicly by other people are not republished either: the facts in them are used freely with attribution, because facts are not copyrightable, but the images belong to whoever made them. How this page is built
Each file's licence, author and source URL is read from the Wikimedia Commons API at the moment the image is downloaded, and written into the data file this page is generated from. Nothing here is typed by hand, so a credit cannot drift out of step with the image it belongs to. The script is scripts/fetch-images.js and how this site is made covers the rest of the build.
Fonts are not listed above. The site sets Inter and Source Serif 4, both under the SIL Open Font License, self-hosted rather than pulled from a third party so that no reader is announced to anybody else's server. The author photograph and the degree certificate belong to the author.
